Visit Wellington without staying in the city
If you're visiting the capital, you can now take advantage of everything the city has to offer while enjoying the relaxed lifestyle and many tourist attraction on the coast.
Have a big day out in this exciting, compact city without the driving and parking hassles - take the two minute walk to the railway station and catch the train to make the journey to Wellington part of the experience! Elevated above the road, the rail route presents beautiful views of Kapiti Island and Wellington Harbour that you won’t see from your car.
Once in the city, walk or catch a bus along the waterfront to Te Papa, ride the cable car or walk to Westpac Stadium, just minutes from Wellington train station.
Attractions in Kapiti - the Nature Coast!
Just a two minute drive North of Elliott's is Southwards Car Museum, the largest of its klind in the Southern Hemisphere, along with Lindale Tourist Centre and Farm. Take a five minute drive or bus ride to the West and you will get to the beautiful beach area and departure point for Kapiti Island, acclaimed nature and bird sanctuary.
And if you're here for golf, the internationally recognised Paraparaumu Beach Links Golf Course (of Tiger Woods fame) is just a few minutes drive away. Prenzil Distillery and Tasting House, Nyco Chocolate Factory and Kapiti Ice Cream are a few offerings close by to tempt your tastebuds.
If you’re in a more adventurous mood, consider trying a few spills and thrills with Kapiti 4x4 quadbike rides, or a helicopter ride with Helipro, or explore some of the beautiful nature on the coast using our 10-speed bikes...
With Kapiti’s main shopping centre, Coastlands, restaurants, supermarkets, 10-pin bowling and a movie theatre only a stone’s throw away, you can relax after your big day out by taking in a little entertainment, dining out … or just soak in your spa bath and enjoy some peace and quiet in the courtyard garden here.
Quiet accommodation close to the shops
A three minute walk from the motel will take you to Coastlands Shopping Centre where can get some retail therapy at over 80 shops, dine out at one of the many restaurants, buy food to prepare your own meal, relax by watching a movie in the theater or even play mini golf.
